Lynn Bain said " The tour and speech was hugely interesting and informative outlining the differences between the civil and criminal courts. This also reinforced the students understanding of the differences between solemn and summary procedures which has underpinned their learning over the last academic block. Although the focus in class has been predominately in area of civil proceedings, the afternoon enabled the students to gain a good overall understating of the justice system".
The students really enjoyed the opportunity and were desperate to find out the verdict delivered on the case they were observing. They pleaded to return the next morning instead of attending their accounts class!!!
The trip was requested by Elaine Armitage, Lecturer and she really appreciated the help from Lynn and Elaine, Employment Engagement Officers. Elaine thanked the team for "organising a fab visit - it was a great learning experience for the students on a number of levels". Elaine has already had a request from HNC Group 1 for a similar experience as they're also studying Business Law. Elaine is now liaising with Lynn and Elaine for suitable dates.
