Successful Business Management student visits West Lothian College

West Lothian Business students were visited on the 1st of December by a previous West Lothian College student, Alzbeta Rehakova.

Beta successfully completed an HND in Business and then progressed on to the BA Business Management Degree which is delivered right here at the Livingston Campus! Beta still had the bug for learning and decided to go to Napier and completed the BA(Hons) with a 2:1.

Beta kindly took some time out of her busy schedule to talk to the students about the benefit of studying the Napier Degree at Livingston and the challenges faced when she progressed to the BA(Hons) at Craiglockhart. Beta graduated with the BA(Hons) in 2013 and decided to stay on as a research student and is working towards a PhD full time with a view towards an academic/research career.

The topic of research is looking at gaps in management training and knowledge for board members of charitable organisations. In addition the aging population of board members and how to reduce this is considered. Business students are now joining charity boards in Edinburgh to address some of the issues and training is being offered to existing members to address gaps in knowledge.
